She & Him
It might be because I am infatuated with She & Him lead singer, Zooey Deschanel but I love the combination of Zooey's voice and M. Ward's guitar. She & Him remind me of what I think 50s music sounded like and its great. Everyone has seen Deschanel in movies and she sings in a lot of them and I had no idea that it was actually her singing, I think I actually have one of the songs from her band Muchausen By Proxy in Yes Man. I know Jay and I are going to be front row at this show for sure. The first track is a cover of a Smiths song that I think translates really well to the She & Him style. The next is off of their first album Volume One and is just a personal favourite from the original She & Him release. Sorry I couldn't find a link to the last song but youtube will have to do; It is my favourite off of She & Him's newest release called Volume Two.
P.S. I bought a pocket HD cam so look for concert footage clips starting with the Twelves and Grum show on May 5th
