Manatee Battle Force aka MBF

I remember perusing Hifi's upcoming events calendar and thinking who is Manatee Battle Force, so I googled them and couldn't find anything then just forgot about it and moved on with my life. On saturday Michael Bernard Fitzgerald posted on his twitter "Calgary be at the hifi club tonight at 9pm! M anatee B attle F orce plays tonight. Success!" once he laid it out like that I finally figured it out. Jay and I opted out of trying to get in to see Said the Whale, to go to a secret MBF show, no brainer right? who doesn't like a secret show?
The concert was solid and MBF was really funny throughout the whole set, which featured a rendition of Baby Got Back and towards the end some Justin Bieber and Ke$ha; hilarious.
It was the first time I got to use the new camera at a show and it turned out ok but not great. I did not check the mic sensitivity so the audio peaks at a few spots and the stage was really dark so the video isn't the greatest looking thing in the interweb. Good news is that I now know how to fix those things and the upcoming video from the Twelves and Grum show Wednesday will be better.
So check out the inaugural concert video from Caspers Not Dead.
(click the video to go to youtube and watch in HD, seriously do it, its a fact HD>non -HD)

  4. I just think its stupid to record music today to cassettes

  5. stupid how so?

But for all their analog warmth, it’s also impossible to deny how raw and recent the songs sound, and harder still to find anything else that sounds quite the same.
